If you’re a lover of fine spirits and eager to discover new, exciting brands, look no further than the Henstone Distillery based in the idyllic countryside of Shropshire. Founded in 2016, this family-owned distillery is a hidden gem amongst the crowded world of spirits, offering something truly special.
Henstone Distillery is nestled within the beautiful county of Shropshire. Surrounded by rolling hills, and boasting stunning views of the Wrekin – an extinct volcano, all within driving distance of the town of Shrewsbury. The photo above is from Y Moelydd, a 285 metre high mountain, minutes from the distillery. You can see Rodney’s Pillar on Breidden Hill visible in the distance.
There are wonderful bluebell woods on the doorstep as can be seen below.
Not only is the location of Henstone Distillery attractive, but the spirits are unmatched in terms of quality and taste. Using the finest ingredients, we have created a unique range of spirits, including whisky, gin, and vodka. Each with its own distinct flavour profile. Our gin is handcrafted using a very special recipe. Our vodka is charcoal-filtered for a smooth and clean finish. The whisky is aged in a number of different cask types for a minimum of three years, producing a rich, deep flavours.
All our spirits are produced in Hilda, our 1000 litre pot/column hybrid still.
At Henstone Distillery we have already won multiple awards for our high-quality spirits. Our London Dry gin won a double gold and best of class award at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Our single malt whisky has won gold at the Global Spirit Masters Awards. In early 2023 our very first batch of rum won the Rum: Local Heroes: UK Based Production award!!
