We commenced our Nonpareil (Apple Brandy) production Spring 2018 and have produced a few batches since.

Nonpareil is distilled from our own cider to produce this wonderfully smooth and warming craft spirit.

Following distillation the spirit is matured in new American oak casks at approximately 65% before being bottled at 45%.

The name is derived from Sweeney Nonpareil, which is a native Shropshire apple, that almost became extinct in the 1970s. It is one of the varieties of local apples we press to make the cider.

It is perfect served neat as a digestif. We also love mixing it with lemon juice, sugar syrup and sparkling wine to create a Nonpareil ’75.

Take a look at our serves page for other suggestions on how to appreciate this wonderful drink!

There is a great article on the Master of Malt website about British Apple Brandies by Annie Hayes

We’ve received some amazing feedback about this product, like this – from a customer who pops in every now and then:

I’ve travelled extensively in France and never tasted a Calvados as good as this!!

There is also a story about a hotel owner who Chris and Alex visited soon after we started production of our apple brandy. He and his wife were very impressed with our range of spirits and they bought a few bottles of gin there and then for the hotel bars. They also bought a few bottles of our Nonpareil and said these were going no where near the hotel bar!! One bottle was being put to one side to be enjoyed on Christmas Day. They have been back to purchase more since!

The observant amongst our readers will have noticed our Nonpareil carries different branding to our other products.
